Mrs. Leathers is a Senior Manager of Lawyer Recruiting & Law School Initiatives for Hunton Andrews Kurth, a large international law firm with over 1,000 lawyers serving clients across a broad range of complex transactional, litigation and regulatory matters. The firm is known for its strength in the energy, financial services, real estate, and retail and consumer products industries, as well as its considerable experience in more than 100 distinct areas of practice, including privacy and cybersecurity, intellectual property, environmental, and mergers and acquisitions. The firm’s full-service litigation practice is one of the largest in the country, with particular depth in key litigation markets such as Texas, California, Florida and the Mid-Atlantic. Mrs. Leathers oversees all aspects of attorney recruitment, onboarding, and budgeting for law students, entry-levels, and judicial clerks firmwide. In this role she actively promotes and supports the firm’s diversity and inclusion statement: to build and leverage a diverse, inclusive professional community that fosters a culture of respect, collaboration, involvement, and empowerment to help drive its business success. She has served on several panels over the past year including: “Successfully Navigating Your Summer Clerkship – Virtually and with Social Distancing!” for SMU Law students, “How to Succeed as a Summer Associate” for Texas Law students, and “Successfully Starting Your Legal Career in a Virtual Environment” for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Spring Group Mentoring Program Event. Her credibility is the result of highly successful recruiting and the strength of her commitment to developing a workforce representative of the firm’s global practice. Hunton Andrews Kurth earned top rankings in the 2021 Legal 500 US Guide in which the firm is recommended in 37 practice areas. Previously, she served as an Event Coordinator for Harrison & Shriftman Public Relations in New York City and as an Account Executive for Katz Media Group in Dallas. Mrs. Leathers has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Communication from SMU’s Meadows Schools of the Arts.
