The Project Superintendent provides field supervision to ensure Westwood’s delivery of quality construction services to its clients by effectively managing all field project activities for jobs assigned to them. This position is responsible for managing the execution of the contracted scope of work through multiple subcontract tradesmen, ensuring safety and compliance with the project plans and specifications.
The Project Superintendent must have advanced construction knowledge, an in-depth familiarity of scope of work, and demonstrate blueprint/plan reading expertise. They must be proficient in utilizing existing construction management technology, be able to effectively supervise and motivate a diverse group of subcontract resources, successfully handle interruptions, and be able to work within tight deadlines and manage high levels of stress.
Summary of Qualifications for Project Superintendent:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a college degree or professional certification preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in construction supervision.
- OSHA 30 and CPR/Fist Aid is preferred, but not required; training will be provided, and certifications must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a highly desirable attribute.
The Assistant Project Superintendent supports the Project Superintendent in managing field operations and ensuring project objectives are met safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves active learning and development to prepare for increased responsibilities within the construction supervision field.
Summary of Qualifications for Assistant Project Superintendent:
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; construction-related degree or coursework preferred.
- A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in construction or related fields.
- OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first six months.
